Aiko

Aiko is an AI-based audio transcription tool that enables users to easily convert speech into text from meetings, lectures, and other audio sources. Because the transcription is done directly on the device, user privacy is ensured.

Aiko uses OpenAI's Whisper model for its transcription, allowing it to transcribe audio in 100 different languages. The app can handle both audio and video files, and it allows exporting to several formats, including JSON, CSV, and subtitles.

Aiko is made to be a straightforward audio transcription tool, but it includes Shortcuts support. For more sophisticated users, MacWhisper, a tool by the same developer, provides additional features such as better iOS performance via CoreML and batch conversion.

Aiko prioritizes privacy and does not allow in-app transcription editing. Instead, users are advised to export the transcription and modify it in a text editor.

Aiko organizes the transcription text by sentences, but users can use a workaround with ChatGPT to divide the text into paragraphs or fix any missing punctuation.

Aiko currently does not support live transcription or speaker diarization, but the developer intends to focus on the most popular requests. Aiko works with macOS and iOS devices, and users can easily transcribe audio files by dragging and dropping them or sharing recordings from apps like Voice Memos and Telegram.
