The extension works with Google Chrome and other Chromium-based browsers. Chippy streamlines the input process, allowing users to either type their questions directly or select text for analysis, removing the need to copy and paste.
Users can also take advantage of suggested prompts to begin their interactions with the AI and explore responses in greater depth with relevant follow-up questions.
Chippy enhances ChatGPT's search capabilities by giving users the ability to focus the AI's search on the current webpage. This allows for obtaining information beyond the model's knowledge base, which is capped in 2021.
Furthermore, the tool can help users quickly draft email replies. Chippy's free tier allows users to perform twenty GPT-3.5 queries each day.
To make additional queries or gain access to the more powerful GPT-4 model, users must supply their OpenAI API key. User conversations and API keys are stored locally in the browser, and users can delete this data at any time.
Chippy does not monitor browsing history and doesn't require account creation. Installation is a simple process of adding the extension from the Chrome store, after which users can customize their theme and start using Chippy.
