Dictly

Dictly is a privacy-oriented dictation tool for macOS, iOS, and iPadOS. It converts speech to structured text in real-time without servers, data collection, or delays.

The tool functions both online and offline. Speech recognition, text formatting, and data storage occur entirely on the user's device, ensuring data privacy.

Dictly works without an internet connection, which is useful in environments like flights and hospitals. It has a Quick Capture feature that allows for speech input, with the output inserted wherever the cursor is.

Dictly enables user control via Workflows and Per-App Profiles, allowing tone, text structure, and dictation behavior to be customized for each app.

Also, it includes a customizable pipeline which processes and formats speech in real time. The tool automatically submits dictated text into any field via Type-out, Paste, or Copy with an offline submission option.

Dictly on iPadOS and iOS includes an instant capture UI for one-handed input, shared workflows with macOS, and a history viewer with share sheet export.

The macOS version supports insertion modes, custom dictionaries, local analytics, full transcription history with search, and offline operation with identical latency.

Dictly provides free (Dictly Core) and paid (Dictly Pro) versions. The Pro version offers extra features like unlimited workflows, profiles, and export options.

The tool supports commands for writing emails, taking notes or commenting on code, shaping words to user preference before they appear. For privacy and security, Dictly uses Local SwiftData storage with a future option for private CloudKit sync.

No data is transmitted with Dictly, ensuring user data remains within the Apple ecosystem.
