Heylama is a language learning application that utilizes artificial intelligence (AI) to serve as a personalized tutor, supporting language acquisition. The tool initially focuses on teaching English and German, and there are future plans to include Spanish and French.

A key feature of this platform is the provision of unlimited practice, giving learners the freedom to use the app as much as they wish, whether for brief exchanges or longer, half-hour dialogues.

Heylama's main teaching approach involves speaking exercises, enhanced by features like lifelike AI voices for better listening skills and a spaced repetition system to aid in vocabulary acquisition.

Users can interact with the app's AI tutor, known as 'Anka,' which has been refined via continuous A/B testing to optimize its effectiveness, friendliness, human qualities, and user engagement.

Heylama aims to make language learning enjoyable and motivating. While the app offers subscription plans, it also provides complimentary access, which allows users to begin learning and talking with Anka without needing to subscribe.

The platform is downloadable on both iOS and Android. Although primarily a consumer app, Heylama also has applications for language schools.
