IronClaw is an open-source runtime environment created to securely operate AI agents. It serves as an alternative to OpenClaw, functioning within encrypted enclaves on the NEAR AI Cloud.
IronClaw facilitates AI agents performing tasks without compromising sensitive information. Its appeal rests in its security, and it is set up and deployed with a one-click cloud deployment feature.
API keys, tokens, and passwords are added to a secure, encrypted storage. IronClaw introduces them at defined points, preventing the AI agent from directly accessing the original data.
An IronClaw instance on NEAR AI Cloud operates within a Trusted Execution Environment, thereby ensuring encryption from the start, without requiring additional configuration.
The security feature is further enhanced as the system monitors all outgoing traffic in real-time, significantly preventing unauthorized data transmission.
System integrity is also maintained, as tools can only communicate with pre-approved destinations, ensuring control over data flow. IronClaw's security architecture eliminates various exploits by utilizing Rust for its runtime, such as buffer overflows and use-after-free scenarios, by enforcing memory safety during compilation rather than during runtime.
Each tool operates within its own WebAssembly container with permission management, approved communication points, and resource limits.
