Kilo Cloud Agents is an AI-powered coding environment that operates in the cloud, allowing developers to write code from any device without needing a local setup. This platform provides isolated Linux container environments, equipped with common development utilities, as a dedicated workspace, ensuring organized and contained projects.During a working session, automated branch management is active, so that a user's repo is cloned and a unique branch created at the beginning of a session.
All modifications are auto-committed and pushed continually, ensuring no loss of data. The platform's environment is ephemeral, spinning containers down during inactivity and back up when needed.
Inactive sessions get deleted after a week; however, they remain accessible via CLI. Setting up Kilo is straightforward, with four steps: connecting to GitHub or GitLab, selecting a repository, configuring your environment, and starting a coding session. Developers can leverage reusable environment profiles, webhook triggers, skills, and easy session portability.
Environment variables and secrets can be added and integrated into the container at the start of a session. Additionally, sessions are restorable locally and can be resumed in the Cloud Agent, offering flexibility between environments.
The tool is suitable for various coding needs like remote debugging, exploring codebases, automated refactoring, and architecture-focused brainstorming.
