Offsend CLI is a free, open-source, command-line utility that operates locally to help developers detect what AI tools might access within their projects.
It examines files, directories, and staged Git changes for confidential data, including API keys, tokens, private keys, environment files, logs, and other potentially risky project elements. All processing occurs on your machine; no file contents are uploaded.
Offsend aids in auditing exposed context before utilizing AI platforms. The `offsend show` command displays files and directories potentially visible to AI tools, while `offsend prepare` generates AI exclusion files such as `.cursorignore`, `.claudeignore`, and `.aiexclude`.
It also integrates with Git hooks and CI environments. Executing `offsend hook install` adds a pre-commit check that scans staged modifications prior to their commitment.
