Sumr

Sumr is an AI tool that provides web content summaries directly in Safari. By integrating with Safari, Sumr leverages an OpenAI API key to condense long articles, product details, company information, and job listings, enabling users to grasp the content's essence without full reading.

This is especially helpful for overly long or poorly written content. Sumr's operation is streamlined, offering one-click summarization and sharing features.

Summaries are stored locally, allowing convenient access without repeated summarization, thus saving time and API costs. Furthermore, users can translate summaries or keep them in the original language. In addition to its summarization functions, Sumr lets users manage website access permissions.

It accesses page content only when the user clicks the Summarize button, and summaries can be completely removed from the device if needed.

Sumr includes features for easily sharing summaries with source URLs. Additionally, it offers the ability to choose between different GPT models for summarization. While Sumr is primarily for iOS, iPadOS, and MacOS, it may also work on Vision OS.

The tool is cost-effective as users control expenses using their own OpenAI keys, eliminating subscription fees. Note: Advanced capabilities like follow-up questions, system prompt adjustments, model type selection, and on-device model usage are under development.
