As users browse, the extension lets them highlight a piece of text and check it using the ChatGPT API. The highlighted text is then searched for in related Wikipedia articles, and relevant quotes from these articles are retrieved.

The tool tells users if the selected text matches Wikipedia information and gives details on the article's quality, like when it was last updated and how many references it has.

This gives users more background information on what they're reading. Since this is an experimental feature using generative AI, the developers are looking for user input to make the results better.

The tool works in a side panel, so it doesn't interrupt browsing. The verification results stay visible even when users interact with the page. The extension also lets users donate to Wikipedia after they've done a certain number of checks.
