UI Sketcher is a Visual Studio Code extension that leverages GPT-4 Vision to turn UI sketches into code. After installation, users can sketch their UI on a built-in drawing area and generate code by selecting 'Make Real'.
The generated code will be inserted at the cursor's location within the active text file. The goal of this tool is to provide a simple, time-efficient method for turning UI ideas into working code.
It also enables iteration via a live preview URL, providing an up-to-date view of the resulting user interface. While comprehensive testing across different stacks is still underway, it's proven highly compatible with Tailwind and Svelte.
The extension includes configurable options for customizing the generated code to align with project requirements, including settings for project packages, custom instructions, a preview URL, and the maximum token count.
UI Sketcher is designed to handle the OpenAI API token securely, storing it within a secure storage managed by VSCode to ensure user data security and privacy.
